About

Jane Baker is a chartered physiotherapist with more than 30 years of experience working in private practice treating a multitude of injuries. She has spent the last 15 years specialising in rehabilitation of foot and ankle injuries, working with leading foot and ankle surgeons and podiatrists to enable the patient to recover from surgery or rehabilitate from an injury, or just recover from painful feet.  There is an emphasis on treating the cause of the injury not just the symptoms in order to facilitate speedy return to activity, whether is it is high level sport, or simply walking, moving correctly and without pain.

There are numerous conditions which could contribute to Foot and Ankle pain and dysfunction. This might be related to surgery, altered foot biomechanics, metatarsalgia, “flat feet”, bunions, Morton’s neuroma, cuboid syndrome, arthritis, Achilles tendinopathy. Some patients might have a difficult recovery after a surgery or fracture/injury. All of these can be debilitating.

Surgery may be inevitable, (it can sometimes be avoided), but it can be very useful to have physiotherapy before surgery to prepare in the best way for the post-operative rehabilitation. Jane works very closely with some of the leading foot and ankle surgeons and podiatrists to create a comprehensive service.

This is an opportunity to be seen by a specialist physiotherapist who works primarily with foot and ankle conditions and can assess you, talk you through your conditions and prepare a treatment program or liaise with your local physiotherapist.
