About

My background is working with people with disabilities; I started my working life supporting blind people in further education, where I learned British Sign Language and then qualified as a Sign Language Interpreter. I went on to train in counselling over ten years ago; at heart I'm a Person-Centred counsellor although I also incorporate aspects of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis into my work. I have years of experience of working with adults of all ages on a wide range of issues.

I am passionate about empowering clients through challenging times to access and develop their own strength and resources in order to find a way forward and to achieve personal growth and improved self-esteem, alleviating feelings of anxiety, depression and being overwhelmed. I currently have my own private practice in Northampton and am an Associate Lecturer in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Northampton. I am an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
